Home after day back at work. Wonder if I could cut it as a pro athlete as that should be more fun than my current day job…. One can dream! #

Enjoying the sun and peacefulness with a beer for the next couple of hours until the return flight. Do I have to go back to work??? #

Well its all over until my next race. Almost a bit sad its done and dusted. No serious aches or pains apart from tender calves. Great race! #
@SuzySpaatz how is @ironrav doing? Recovered yet or still ill? Speedy recovery wishes to him!! Shame about IM swiz! #

Feeling surprisingly good apart from calves which are a bit tight and achy. Just collecting bike and transition bags now. Pub lunch later… #
@mujh a journey indeed! Surreal that it’s over, almost two years since we said “how hard can it be?”. So when you doing your first??? 😉 #

Light breakfast and now almost ready to head to transition. Roughly two hours to go. Tummy has butterflies! #
Transition sorted, quick loo break and then wander to swim start. 48mins to go. Bit of a party atmosphere here! #

Just had a 20min lake swim and now sat waiting for race briefing to start. Lots of really fit and toned looking bodies. Gulp! #
Briefing over. Bite to eat and then hit checkin. #
Boo! Raining on us in the checkin queue. Waiting waiting waiting. #
Bike and bags checked in. Soggy and wet though with number stickers peeling off. Sun is trying to come back out. 14hours till alarm clock. #
Off to bed for 5.5 hours attempted sleep. Then d day!! Race start in 8h40…. Y I K E S #

Just off to registration and a swim in the lake. Glorious weather here today. #
All registered now, race number 592. Reality is setting in… Just about to have a swim practise! #
Swim was great. Water is warm… Hopefully will be wetsuit legal on race day! Goggles fogged up though, worrying. Clouded over, cooler now #
Did a 30min easy cycle and drove around the bike course. Looks ok with only two serious hills and two or three gentle climbs. Dinner time. #
@SuzySpaatz oh dear about @ironrav . Let us know if its confirmed or when you find out any more. Speedy recovery! Is IM Switzerland out? #

Climbing into bed now. Late evening I know. Lots to sort so not enough sleep again. Boo! #
